Using it
Rarity, tiers and points
Every spot gets one of five tiers. The server sets it when you post, from the model and from how often that model turns up in Delhi NCR. You can’t pick it.
Tiers and points
The tier shows as shift lights: one lit pip per tier, grey, white, red, red, then white-hot, the way a real shift light runs up. Gallery spots keep the same tier and score half, rounded.
| Tier | Verified | Gallery |
|---|---|---|
| Common | 10 | 5 |
| Uncommon | 25 | 13 |
| Rare | 60 | 30 |
| Epic | 150 | 75 |
| Legendary | 400 | 200 |
Where a tier starts
Every model in the catalog has a base tier, set from how many were built worldwide and how easy it is to find one in India. A few examples from the catalog:
- Maruti Suzuki Swift
- Common
- Maruti Suzuki Gypsy
- Uncommon
- Volkswagen Golf GTI
- Rare
- Porsche 911 GT3 RS
- Epic
- Mercedes-Benz 280 SL Pagoda
- Legendary
Local frequency
Once the city has enough spots, Delhi NCR’s own streets move the tier:
- Nobody has spotted that model in Delhi NCR in the last 90 days: one tier up. Legendary stays Legendary.
- 20 or more counted spots of it in the last 90 days: one tier down, never below the model’s floor (usually one tier under its base).
The tier is fixed when you post. It doesn’t change later as more people spot the same model, unless a moderator corrects which car it is.
The cold-start rule
A new city has hardly any spots, so “nobody spotted it in 90 days” would be true for nearly everything. Until Delhi NCR has 500 published spots, the local adjustments stay off and every spot gets its model’s base tier.
First in Delhi NCR
First in Delhi NCR is worth +100 on top of the tier. It goes to the first counted spot of a model in the city, ever, and only when:
- nobody has a counted spot of that model in Delhi NCR, at any time;
- your spot is verified (in-app camera with live GPS);
- the model’s base tier is Rare or higher, so the first Swift doesn’t count.
Pending points
Epic and Legendary points start as pending. They count once two other spotters confirm the model, or a moderator does. Until then the spot is live in the feed and on the map, it just doesn’t score yet. Common, Uncommon and Rare points land straight away.
If two spotters suggest a different model, the spot goes to a moderator and its points stay pending until that’s settled. How the votes work: Community ID and the dataset.
Leaderboard and seasons
Delhi NCR has two boards: the weekly season, Monday 00:00 to Monday 00:00 IST, and all-time. Positions read P1, P2, P3. On a tie, whoever got there first stays ahead.
A season counts spots by when they were posted, so nothing can be backdated into last week. Only awarded points count. When an Epic or Legendary spot gets confirmed later, its points go to the season you posted it in.
Logbook
Your logbook tracks every make: Porsche, 4 of 20 models. Your profile shows how much of the catalog you’ve spotted.
Keeping it fair
- The server decides the tier and the points. Nothing the app sends can change them.
- Every photo gets a fingerprint before the blur goes on. The same photo, or a resized or recompressed copy of it, is rejected whoever posts it. Moving the blur boxes around doesn’t get past it.
- The same car, by the same spotter, within 500 m and 2 hours counts once. The second spot still posts, for 0 points.
- The +100 needs a verified capture, and Epic and Legendary points need two other spotters to agree on the model.
- Posting is capped at 3 spots a minute, 15 an hour and 40 a day.
- Anyone can report a spot. Three reports from different people hide it until a moderator looks. “Wrong car ID” reports go to the ID review queue instead and don’t hide anything.
