Ideas we’ve agreed on and plan to build. None of this is in the app yet, and the details can change before it is.
Owner verification
A free way to prove a car is yours: write a one-time code on paper, put it on the dashboard and shoot it with the in-app camera. A moderator checks it.
- We’d keep the make, model, year and the date you were verified. The proof photo gets deleted after review.
- The plate would be stored only as a keyed hash, never as text, and never shown on your profile.
- Verified owners could ask for their car’s spots to be hidden or delayed.
Owning a car would stay separate from points. A rare car in your garage won’t buy you leaderboard rank.
Drive with Redline groups
Groups by niche (JDM, German, Italian, Muscle, Classic, Off-road) and by marque scene, like VAG. We’d start with the scenes that already meet in NCR: JDM nights, VAG, Thar and off-road, classics, supercar runs.
Each group gets its own feed and events. No chat inside Redline at first: groups link out to their existing WhatsApp community. Bikes wait until bikes come to Redline.
Memberships: Verified, GT, RS
A ladder borrowed from trim badges: Verified (free) → GT → RS. The full name reads like a badge on a boot lid: “Drive with Redline JDM RS”.
- One membership covers every niche you’re in. Each niche shows as its own badge on your profile.
- Perks we’re looking at: early access to events, priority RSVPs for limited track days, a showcase garage.
- Perks have nothing to do with points. Prices aren’t set.
Drops, where points are never spent
Points are never spent. Reach a threshold of confirmed points (plus a minimum account age) and you earn the right to buy a limited, numbered drop. Your score stays where it was.
No loot boxes, cases or paid randomness. We’d like to do drops with Indian motorsport events once the community is big enough for someone to want it.
Safer spotting
No shutter while you’re moving: the camera wouldn’t fire above about 20 km/h of GPS speed. And caps on points per day or per car, so nobody chases a car down the road for a score.
Smarter tools, more places
- Automatic plate and face blur, and a check that the photo actually has a car in it.
- Suggested IDs, then Redline’s own recognition model, trained on confirmed spots from people who opted in.
- More cities after Delhi NCR, and bikes.
